400.015 Personal
Holidays
1. An
employee may select five (5) personal holidays each calendar year and the
supervisor may grant the days provided the number of employees selecting a
particular day off does not prevent the District from providing an adequate
level of service.
2. The
personal holidays must be taken during the calendar year or entitlement to the
days will lapse.
3. The entire personal holiday must be taken on
one day and cannot be taken a few hours at a time. Exception: part-time staff
receive an annual allotment of hours prorated to their schedule and may use
those hours in
4. An employee who is eligible to take a
personal holiday and who terminates employment will be given credit for
personal holidays according to length of employment. An employee who has
already taken a greater than allowable number of personal holidays, as of the
termination date, will have his/her final paycheck reduced by the amount paid
for the excess personal holidays.
400.020 Holidays -
Observance
1. Holidays
designated by the Board of Trustees will be observed by the Stevens County
Rural Library District.
2. Whenever a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday will be
observed as a holiday.
3. Other
Religious Holidays: Time off for individuals to observe religious holidays may
be granted at the discretion of the Director upon request of the employee. Personal holidays or vacation leave must be
used for this purpose.
400.025 Holidays -
Compensation - Accrual
It is
the intent of this section to insure that every eligible employee enjoys the
benefits of time off for holidays observed by the Library District.

employee must either make up that time by working extra during the pay period

400.030 Holidays -
Occurring During Paid Leave
A
holiday occurring during an employee's vacation, sick leave, or other paid
leave, shall be considered as holiday time and shall not be charged against
that employee's accrued paid leave, EXCEPT when such holiday occurs during
terminal leave.
