The Loon Lake, Washington Digital Image Project

Welcome to the Loon Lake, Washington digital imaging partnership project.  This is a joint effort between the Stevens County Rural Library District and the Loon Lake Historical Society.  It was made possible by a grant from the Washington State Library.

This site features a series of slide programs on the history of the Loon Lake area.  You can view the images on the site as the slide show was presented.  The Loon Lake Historical Society produces a slide program each summer for the enjoyment of the area residents.  The first few years of the program, the slide show featured a particular individual and their family's history.  It was presented to the members of the Historical Society during their annual meeting.  It was short, normally 15 minutes or less.  In more recent years, we have expanded the subject matter and lengthened the program.  It is no longer presented as part of the annual meeting, but has become an event in itself.  We are pleased to be able to expand the audience of the program with the help of the web site.
