About this same time, plans were underway to acquire a Ferris wheel. On December 15, 1902, Ernest R. Grant wrote this letter to Evan Morgan who was wintering in Pennsylvania.
"Dear Sir and Friend. Yours received. Was glad to hear that you and family got to the end of your journey all safe and that you are pleased with the place. We are having a real winter here now. There is a foot of good solid snow.
