"But perhaps the chief attraction of Loon Lake is the delightful bathing, the water being much warmer and cleaner than any lake within five hundred miles of Spokane. The shallows leading out from the wide, easy sloping beaches of granite sand afford safe bathing for ladies and children, while the broad, deep waters of the lake invite the bolder swimmer to longer flights. Indeed, it was this feature that started the popularity of this resort.
