She left behind her young daughter, Gail.
Gail McDermut would spend much time at the resort with her grandfather following her mother's death. He taught her how to swing Indian Clubs and she would give demonstrations to the guests at the resort. These clubs are on display here tonight. Her grandfather would teach anyone who wanted to learn and many of the local boys took him up on this offer. Cliff Groff was one of them.
