Morgan Park History Program

MarGwen started school in 1930 in this very building. She is pictured here on her front porch ready to head off to her first day of school. This photograph reminded her of two things. First, she loved to wear hats. And the second memory concerned the metal lunch box she is carrying. Apparently, a boy was teasing her one day at school so she swung her lunch box at him and hit him in the head. The blow caused a cut on the boy's head.
